VP Brands International donates life-saving equipment to six hospitals
The company has allocated BGN 300,000 for the hospitals in greatest need in Plovdiv
VP Brands International donated six top-class pulmonary ventilators, 10,000 safety masks and over 300 multiple protective clothing donated to six hospitals designated by the Ministry of Health for the treatment and monitoring of patients with COVID-19 in the city of Plovdiv.
The noble gesture is part of the actions already taken by the shareholders of the company - successor of Vinprom Peshtera JSC, to deal with the crisis in the country. The donation is for the total amount of BGN 300,000 and is provided for the intensive wards of “St. Ivan Rilski”, “St. Mina”, “St. Pantaleimon”, “KASPELA”, “PALMED” and “St. George” hospitals. Thus, the company supports the medical staff in Plovdiv in the onset of the pandemic peak, when a wave of patients is expected to start entering the city's hospitals.
Life-saving equipment is intended for emergency care and long-term intensive care in patients with acute respiratory failure of all age groups. Protective suits are manufactured in Bulgaria - a special antivirus product with the highest protection class, and are reusable. They are extremely lightweight, allow the skin to breath and do not cause allergic reactions. They are made of high quality waterproof fabric, with 8100 mm protective water column. The garments are fastened with a waterproof zipper, and all the seams on them are welded by a specific technology, which guarantees additional resistance of the protective suit.
“In addition to the much-needed personal protective equipment, VP Brands International has also given us something of a great value, namely the belief that we are not alone in the fight against this terrible disease. It is a faith that gives us wings and gives us the strength and determination to stay in our work places and fight for the life and health of every patient until the disease is completely eradicated,” the Plovdiv doctors say.
"We express our deep gratitude for the work of all the doctors, nurses, laboratory assistants and paramedics who watch the health and life of the Bulgarian citizens 24 hours a day,” said Ivan Papazov, Executive Director of VP Brands International. He added that the company will continue to fulfil its commitment in the overall effort to tackle the difficult challenge. "Today, more than ever, we have to be united, and the gesture of empathy is an expression of our solidarity with the people on the frontline,” he added.
In support of the selfless struggle of the Bulgarian medics, the company also affixed banners to the national flag on its building in the city of Plovdiv, with the text: "We support the Bulgarian medics" and "Everything will be fine". The inspiration for the message is the appeal of Bulgarian doctors and nurses for the courage and discipline of citizens in these difficult times, while the medical staff stays at their jobs around the clock and takes care of public health.
