Official Statement by VP Brands International JSC regarding the supply of spirits to be used in the manufacture of disinfectants

 

In the context of the measures put in place to contain the COVID-19 epidemic and the drastic spike in the demand for disinfectants, VP Brands International AD would like to point out that the Essentica production facility for spirits distilled from agricultural crops owned by the company is operating at full capacity on a 24/7 schedule.

Essentica is Bulgaria’s largest high-tech production facility for ethanol and ethanol byproducts. The spirits distilled there have an alcohol content of at least 96% and meet the requirements of the European quality standards.

To meet as best as we can the demand for this material, we deliver our products with priority to Bulgarian partners specializing in the manufacture of medical-grade spirits and disinfectants, municipal administrations and other public authoritiues. To make this possible, we have severely limited our sales to foreign customers.  

To make sure our manufacturing process is not disrupted, we are doing our best to support Bulgarian growers and we pay in advance for the goods they supply us with to enable us to manufacture ethanol. 

In a situation where most companies are forced to scale back and lay off employees, we have been able to retain our staff and to motivate them to do their best and contribute so that we can overcome this crisis.

As a socially responsible company, VP Brands International will continue to fulfill its commitment to our fellow citizens and the Bulgarian authorities so we can contain the COVID 19 pandemic.
